Artis announces its annual open call for contemporary visual artists from Israel, based anywhere in the world, to apply for leading global residencies at partner organizations in New York, Los Angeles, and Berlin. The Studio Partnership Program (formerly the Residency Partnership Initiative) offers fully funded opportunities for artists to create work in new environments, providing time, space, and resources to focus on their practice, explore new contexts, and build connections across disciplines and geographies.

Artis is delighted to partner with the following organizations through this open call for 13 residencies taking place in 2027:

18th Street Arts Center, Los Angeles, CA

The Cordts Art Foundation, Schwanenwerder, Berlin, Germany

The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA), New York, NY

International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), Brooklyn, NY

KinoSaito Residency, Verplank, NY

Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, Germany

NARS Foundation, Brooklyn, NY

Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik Berlin (ZK/U), Berlin, Germany

Each residency has its own predetermined start and end dates, ranging from four weeks to six months, with an average duration of two months. Locations vary from urban environs to retreat-style programs, each offering unique professional experiences for artists to develop their practice and expand their networks. The residencies in this open call are responsive to a variety of creative and practical needs at different moments in artists’ careers, and the majority are family friendly. Participants will be welcomed into vibrant art communities and given access to professional development opportunities such as open studio events, public programs, meetings with curators, and visits to nearby art institutions.

If selected, artists receive studio and residency support at no cost, as well as a grant for round-trip travel to their residency destination and a participation grant to help offset living expenses during the residency.

Details about each residency opportunity are available in the application.
