Artist Bio
Raida Adon is a Palestinian-Israeli multidisciplinary artist and actress, born in Acre and currently living between Jaffa–Tel Aviv and Paris. A graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem (2002), Adon creates video and performance works that delve into themes of identity, displacement, and the Israeli-Palestinian condition. Her process combines deep research, intuitive casting, and full creative authorship—writing, directing, producing, designing, and often performing in her works. Adon was the first Arab woman to have a solo exhibition at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Her acclaimed videos, including Fasatine, Rebirth, A Woman Without a Home, and Strangeness, have been exhibited internationally at The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA; Institut du monde arabe, Paris; and Shanghai Himalayas Museum, among others. As an actress, Adon has performed at the Cameri Theater and the Palestinian National Theater, among others. Adon is the recipient of the Shulamit Aloni Prize (2023).
