Inversion #4 is a work embedded into the space in which it is presented, transforming it into a resonant threshold—one that is both sculptural and sonic at the same time. Here, Tsabar cuts deep apertures into the wall, revealing a living interior of sound rather than emptiness. As visitors reach into these openings, their movements activate a layered composition of field recordings: the electric pulse of cicadas and the voices of female vocalists, mixed together into a textured soundscape. Visitors modulate pitch and volume through their movement in space, becoming both audience and performer. In this way, Inversion #4 collapses distinctions between interior and exterior, structure and body, listening and touch.
