The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (moCa) Cleveland will present the first U.S. institutional exhibition by acclaimed artist Ella Littwitz, marking a major milestone in her exploration of the political, cultural, and material complexities of land, memory, and belonging. Featuring works from the past decade—drawn from private collections in the United States, Europe, and Israel—alongside a new commission produced for moCa Cleveland, the exhibition highlights Littwitz’s distinctive approach to uncovering layers of history and humanity’s enduring desire to define borders and claim space. Often centered on her Israeli homeland, her work weaves together biblical and contemporary narratives to reflect on belief, transformation, and identity. This presentation both celebrates a pivotal moment in Littwitz’s career and invites dialogue about migration, memory, and the deep connections between peoples and places across the world.
