In the artist’s first institutional solo exhibition in Germany, Bracha L. Ettinger presents a recent body of oil paintings alongside her diaries, early drawings, gouaches, and psychoanalytical texts. While drawing inspiration from current events, the exhibition aims to focus on aesthetic perception, and to raise abstract questions on color and light and the way they connect to personal and collective trauma. Through recurring motifs of angels and mythical female forms that hover between figuration and abstraction, Ettinger’s paintings open up space for compassion, healing, and transcendence.
